The Kansas Chapter                     

  Kansas is made up of tall-grass prairies, mixed-grass prairies short-grass prairie and wet lands. All of these ecosystems are in danger. Of them the tall-grass prairie and the animals that depend on it are the most endangered. The Kansas Chapter of the Prairie Preservation Organization is working to preserve both the land and the water and restore it to presettlement conditions. 

Membership In The Kansas Chapter

  The Kansas chapter needs members at are interested in preserving the natural environment in Kansas and elsewhere in the United States.  The Kansas Chapter also needs people how wish to preserve the prairie to donate online or mail in donations .  Those of you that would like to donate time cleaning and restoring the environment may volunteer.

The Republican River-Kansas River Cleanup Project

  The Republican River runs in to the Kansas river at Junction City, Kansas. The Republican river is severely polluted with trash. The Kansas river is also polluted with trash but not as bad. The river is home to many types of birds including bald eagles and Sand Hill crane as well as fish, amphibians, reptiles and mammals.  The Prairie Preservation Organization is working the clean up the river and help to restore the river habitat.  full store.
